Counseling for Individuals in the Indianapolis Area

Everyone reaches a point in their life when they could benefit from seeking support. Whether you have a specific goal in mind, are simply feeling overwhelmed, are coping with a recent challenge or loss, or find that a particular aspect of your life is not working the way you would like it to, a professional counselor can help you get back on track.

We work together to determine what is keeping you from living the life you want, and implement strategies to reach your individual goals. Counseling can help you identify your strengths, improve your self-image, get unstuck, learn new ways of thinking, and teach you how to manage the challenges in your life. Some areas of focus include:

Life Transitions

We all go through changes in our lives, some more difficult than others. When you find yourself struggling with one of these transitions, it is helpful to reach out to someone who can provide a different perspective and clarity to the situation. Whether you have just ended a relationship, are going through a change in careers, have become an empty nester, or any other major life transition, I can help you.

Grief Counseling

The loss of someone you love is completely devastating. Most of us our not equipped to process the grief on our own. It helps to participate in grief counseling during these times to move beyond the pain and overwhelming loss. Grief can impact our ability to function in our everyday lives, damage friendships and relationships, and have long-term effects on our lives if not processed in a healthy way. Reach out for support if you feel that you are not able to cope with your loss.

Anxiety & Stress Management

Are you a worry-wart? Do you stress over everything? Has something happened to cause you significant stress? We all have stress in our lives from time to time. However, if you are having trouble coping with things in your life due to overwhelming stress, it’s time to make a change. You don’t have to feel anxious all of the time. You don’t have to let stress take over. It’s a choice, and you can choose to learn the skills you need to effectively manage stress.

Disability & Chronic Illness

If you or someone you love is coping with a disability or chronic illness, then you know how life altering it can be. It impacts every area of your life, and can cause significant anxiety or depressed feelings. Learning to effectively cope with the condition is a key component to taking back control of your life. You can move beyond the loss of your health into a place of hope and happiness with the right support.

self-esteem/self-image

Do you feel like you aren’t enough? Do you struggle to see yourself in the same ways that others see you? Are you constantly battling with negative thoughts about yourself? It’s time to change all of that. Low self-esteem or a distorted self-image are the root cause of many people’s problems. Our society, unfortunately, does not promote healthy, positive, self-esteems. Instead of learning to compensate or work around your negative thoughts, learn how to change the way you view yourself.
